Kentucky Eviction Relief Fund

Stay in Your Home and Get Back on Track

Covid and the 2020 economy have hit Northern Kentuckians hard. With most renters living paycheck to paycheck, thousands of Northern Kentucky families fell behind on their rent.

While Bankruptcy isn't usually a great option for landlord/tenant issues if you want to stay in your home, I still get a lot of calls from people who need help. Fortunately, Kentucky now has a program of rent assistance.

Called the Healthy at Home Eviction Relief Fund, Kentucky has $297 million available for Kentuckians who need help with back rent, back utilities or both, The portal opened February 15, 2021, so first come, first served.

All Northern Kentucky renters are eligible to seek direct payment to their landlords or utilities for their primary home if they meet the requirements:

  • You had your income drop because of Covid.
  • You can prove you are in danger of eviction and/or are past due on your utilities.
  • Your income is not more than 80% of Kentucky median income (two people with income below $45,000 a year or a family of four with income below $64,000 would be eligible).
  • Your landlord cooperates.

Relief is available back to April 1, 2020 an up to three months in the future. If you need eviction relief, get the relief you deserve, so you can get your finances back on track.
